Out Now
spring 2015
Placement Description
My second internship during my junior year at Western New England University was at Out Now. While interning at Out Now I served as a community organizer and community activity leader. Even though I only spent one short semester at Out Now I helped to raise over 100 dollars for the organization and connected LGBTQ community of Western New England University with Out Now. In addition to successfully setting up a fundraiser on the campus of Western New England University to spread the word about LGBTQ support within the Springfield area and raise money for Out Now, I also put on a film night to further spread the word about the LGBTQ community on the campus of Western New England University. Below I have attached the flier I used to promote the film night at Western New England University.

While interning at Out Now I did more than just community organization. I also wrote an article for the Out Now newspaper and sat in on many different conferences (i.e. safe school conference and civil rights conference) and court cases. Below I have attached my article that I wrote for the Out Now newspaper titled Whiteness.
